Liberty Park is pretty much where Clarksville goes to the river, with the ramp and the marina and a pond and the event center and a grill and a dog park all in one spot on Cumberland Drive, so if you boat in this town you're going to end up there sooner or later. This is what the city and the marina actually say about Liberty Park Clarksville, plus how I've been thinking about it with a boat of my own.

Liberty Park is at 1188 Cumberland Drive, Clarksville, TN 37040, and Clarksville Marina is right next door in the park at 1190 Cumberland Drive. Park questions go to Clarksville Parks and Recreation at 931-645-7476 per the city's Liberty Park page, and the marina is run separately by Sun Life Marinas.

The ramp

The city lists a 4-lane boat ramp into the Cumberland River, which is the biggest public ramp I found in town, and four lanes means more people launching at once and less of a backup on a summer Saturday. If you've never launched before I wrote a step-by-step launch guide from Discover Boating's advice. I didn't find official ramp hours so I didn't list any, and I'd check the signs or call Parks and Rec.

Clarksville Marina

The marina's amenities page lists covered wet slips up to 50 feet LOA with 50, 30 and 20 amp shore power, fresh water and in-slip pumpout at the slips, Wi-Fi on the docks, heated and cooled bathrooms with showers, and a security gate with cameras.

The transient dock is the part I care about for folks coming down from Nashville or up from Kentucky. They list over 300 feet of uncovered side-tie dock at $2 per foot per night as of October 2026, with 30/50 amp power for a $10 surcharge, pumpout for $10, and a covered slip if one's available for $5 extra. For Doreen at 25'6" on the contract that works out to about $51 a night before power, but prices change so check their page.

The fuel dock lists non-ethanol 87 octane gas and diesel, which matters to me since my Honda BF350 runs on gas and some boaters go out of their way for ethanol-free. I'd check Honda's manual for what your engine wants though, I'm not going to tell you what to put in yours. The marina also posts office hours that change by season and day of the week, and the last time I looked it listed a mid-week closure with transient arrivals still taken by reservation, so call before you count on fuel.

The rest of the park

The city lists a 10-acre fishing pond, pavilions you can reserve, King's Run Bark Park, a community-built playground, multi-purpose sport fields, a walking trail, and the Wilma Rudolph Event Center and Freedom Point. Visit Clarksville calls the pond a good spot for young anglers and points to Liberty Park Grill by the marina with a view of the Cumberland at sunset.

Wilma Rudolph was a Clarksville resident who won multiple gold medals at the 1960 Olympics per the Tennessee Encyclopedia, and the event center named for her sits right by the water, which is pretty good company for a boat ramp.

A first visit

Going off the city's Blueway etiquette list and Discover Boating's ramp etiquette guide, the idea is to do your prep in the parking lot, with gear loaded and the plug in and lines ready before you pull onto the ramp, and then launch and get the boat over to the dock and the truck parked so the next person can go. People fish off the docks and the bank here so give them room and idle past, and keep it no wake near the marina since slips and swimmers and paddlers all share that water. The city asks you to pack out your trash, which is just decent anyway, and the main channel with the barges is right there, and tows can't stop for you.

Where Doreen fits

I'll be straight, I don't know where Doreen ends up living long term. During the build I added a full shore-power package because the plan is to keep her in a slip, so a marina with shore power and fuel and pumpout and a gate is exactly the kind of setup I've been looking at.

McGregor Park downtown has another public ramp and the RiverWalk, which I covered in Clarksville TN boat ramps, and Fort Defiance sits up above where the Red and the Cumberland meet, with the history in Clarksville TN history. Downstream is Lake Barkley proper, which is in my Lake Barkley guide, and if you want the river's whole backstory in two minutes there's Film 04.
